Fall Frenzy

So much has been going on that I am falling behind in my blogging.  We had out county fair in September and the kids entered drawings and I entered my lemon meringue pie. ( which was a learning experience and a lesson on patience) The kids did great, Ty got 2nd and Tanner got 3rd in their age divisions.  I also got 2nd for my pie and a special award for the flavor. So I might try again now that I know what to do. 

Then school started, Tylin is in 3rd grade and Tanner is in preschool. They both are doing really well and really like their teachers.  Tanner even got to meet the governor at his school. He didn't know what a governor was but he said he was nice and read him a book.

Tanner just finished soccer too. He loves soccer and loves to kick goals. I was lucky enough to be persuaded into being his coach.  What do I know about soccer? NOTHING!  I was lost but lucky for me so were most of the kids.  We were the gold ninjas and we were undefeated!

Tylin is doing gymnastics and really loves it. She is almost doing back handsprings and her front handsprings are improving. She also has the opportunity to be in the Nutcracker ballet this year. She is very excited! She is an angel.  It is a big commitment but also a good growing experience. The twins are starting to talk. They mimic everything and I am starting to understand them, so that helps with the communication gap. They have such fun personalities but are definitely different.  Karter is more dominant. She is a rough and tumble girl.  She also has picked up biting and is often in time out.  She also has a good sense of humor and loves to tease.  Kinley is more timid. She talks more than her sister, but she also tends to be more winey.  She loves to play with her sister and LOVES candy, which she calls ( noggy).

Halloween was a lot of fun. Tanner was Darth Vader and the rest of the family were skeletons.  The babies were pretty nervous about the painted faces and scary masks. We went to Tony's work party and some people were dressed up with scary faces, Karter wouldn't go near them but Kinley would if they had candy, she just kept an eye on them while she grabbed the candy.  We did some trick or treating and now we have way too much candy sitting around that I can't stop eating.  So far Fall has been a success and I am excited for all the holiday fun headed our way. :)

Tylin's Baptism Day

Tylin was baptized this weekend and it was a great day! She looked beautiful dressed in white and she was so excited. Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen came from Utah, and Grandma and Grandpa Yearsley, Dawn, Morgan and her kiddos came from Idaho. We also had several good friends come and support her. She was baptized and confirmed by her dad and he did a great job. She also got some really neat gifts from everyone, I know she will enjoy them throughout her life. It was such a special day for our family. I am so proud of her and her decision to be baptized.

Twin Lakes Camping Trip

We had a great camping trip last week at Twin Lakes. It was so much fun to get away and relax, well as much as you can relax when camping with two 18 month olds. We took the trailer, which we couldn't have gone without.  The kids got to do a lot of fishing, some swimming, hiking and lots of eating good food.  We kept one of Tanner's fish and cooked it up over the camp fire, it was surprisingly good. Everyone liked it, even the babies.

The babies got really dirty. They were running everywhere, eating rocks, and throwing dirt at each other.  It was so fun to watch them explore.  They got to touch their first fish, and played in the lake.

We had a fun time and I hope we can go back again next year.

Ty's Birthday

Tylin turned 8 in July. She is growing up so fast. She is so much help to me with the babies and she is very responsible. She loves gymnastics, singing, riding bikes, and is looking forward to starting dance this fall.  She also loves to read and is reading at a 6th grade level. She is our smart cookie. For her birthday she got to invite a friend to go swimming.  Then our family went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. It was delicious, but twins and beans and rice equal disaster. They made a bit of a mess and every time they screamed the whole restaurant was looking at us, so we had to cut it a bit short, but they gave us fried ice cream for her birthday and it was so yummy!!
I attempted the zebra cake again this year after I destroyed it last year, and it turned out really well. So I was relieved. It was a fun day , Happy Birthday TY!!!

The Red Shoe Ball

I was recently asked to speak at the Ronald McDonald House Red Shoe Ball in Missoula. It is a fund raiser for the charity. I was asked to speak about my experience at the house. We couldn’t bring the kids but fortunately we have some great friends Denise and Tyson who helped us out and watched the kids while we were gone. It was a fun night, they had a silent auction, games, a photo booth and a raffle. Ronald McDonald was there to be in pictures. Then we had dinner and they started a live auction, half way through I spoke. Originally I planned to read my story from my notebook. I was so nervous I didn’t want to forget anything but I also wanted to be sincere and make sure everyone knew how much Ronald McDonald House did for us. Right before I got up Tony said “ You know the story just tell it” So I didn’t read my notes at all I just told our story. I hope that I conveyed my appreciation for the house and the people that helped us during that tough time in our life. I stayed there when my twins were in the NICU, it was close to the hospital and they were so kind to me and my family. It is a great organization that helps so many people, we were so blessed to have it available. (While I spoke they showed a slide show of pictures of the babies then and now, and of our family.) After I spoke they had another lady who is currently at the house tell her story, then they auctioned for people to pay for other’s stay at the house. People were so generous, and it was amazing to see. Tony and I had a great night and we were really glad to be able to give back a little to the Ronald McDonald House. I didn’t take any pictures at the ball but these are from my stay there. If there is one near you it is a great opportunity to do service, they love to have meals brought in, or you could do a game night or craft night for the families staying there. Kinley and Karter turned 1 !!

The twins turned 1 yr old in January. I can’t believe that it has been a year since the babies were in the NICU and we were praying everyday that they could come home. They are doing so well now. Kinley is walking more and more every day. Karter is starting to take steps but isn’t quite as confident. They are both trying to say words, mostly they say momma, dadada, and hi. They love to wave. Lately they just can’t stand to let their sister be happy and content with a toy. They have to take it or hit them or bite them, which makes for a lot of crying and screaming. They have started to chase each other around the house, in and out of rooms and they laugh and have a great time. I am glad they are starting to entertain each other because I get warn out. The kids love to play with the girls, they roll balls, or wrestle. I love having twins, they are fun and I get twice as many slobbery kisses. It has been a crazy year but I wouldn’t change it for anything. Happy Birthday to my beautiful girls, Kinley and Karter!!!

Spiderman Birthday!!

Tanner had his 4th birthday. Where did my baby boy go?

He was so excited. He had preschool in the morning and I took the twins to his class. Tanner gave out cupcakes and treat bags to all of his friends. Then we stayed and played games and helped with his class until it was time to go home.

We waited until Tylin and daddy got home to start the party. Grandma and Grandpa Yearlsey came too. Tylin is taking sewing lessons and made Tanner a very cool birthday crown, he wore it with his spiderman mask. Tanner opened presents first. He got a scooter, Donkeykong Wii game, clothes, handcuffs, boardgame, and a photobook all about him. Then we had dinner,he chose Steak and noodles (egg noodles with butter). Unfortunately about this time Ty started to not feel very good, so she spent the rest of the night on the couch sleeping. After dinner we played some games, then sang Happy Birthday and had cupcakes. Tanner is so much fun to be around. He has a great smile and laugh. He loves to play outside, ride his bike and play the wii. He is an awesome helper to me, and loves to play with his sisters. We love Tanner so much, Happy 4th Birthday!

The Holidays

Well because I am so slow posting all that we have been doing I am combining our Holiday fun into one post. We celebrated Thanksgiving in Hamer. The kids had so much fun, they both rode horses, we did some shooting, and we got in a little black friday shopping. I enjoy no schedule and just relaxing with the fam.

For Christmas we went to Payson and we hadn't been there in over a year, so it was good to see all of Tony's family and let our kids get to know everyone. They have a great family party that we look forward to every year. Santa found the kids at Grandma's house and they had fun showing all their toys to the cousins. We are so blessed to have such great families that love us and support us so much.
