California Vacation

Our family vacation this year was to sunny California.  We drove the exhausting 19 hours to San Diego with the whole crew in the truck.  Considering how long the drive was the kids did pretty good.  Thank heavens for electronic devices.  What did we used to do in the old days? ( I know I slept on the floor or in the back window :)  We did break up the trip by stopping in Payson on the way down.  We met 4 of Tony's siblings and their families there. It is fun for the cousins to play together and to have help. Once we got to San Diego the kids wanted to swim.  The hotel we stayed at has an awesome pool that is heated and great for the kiddos.  They spent a lot of time there.  We also hit several beaches, Mission, Coronado, and Ocean.  It was fun to watch the kids play in the sand and the ocean.  The babies weren't too sure about the water.  Every time a wave would come in they would lose their balance and fall, but they still had fun.  Especially when the seagulls attacked our snacks and we had to run them off, the girls wanted to chase the birds the rest of the day.

Yummy sand!

After San Diego we headed to Disneyland!  We love Disneyland!  We went on lots of rides, the twins liked most of them, Kinley would get a little nervous if it was loud.  They got to meet Winnie the Pooh and Tigger and Mickey Mouse.  We ate lots of good food, and the kids loved the parade.  Kinley and Karter were dancing the whole time and waving at the characters.  Several came over talk to them.  It was really cute.  We are so glad Aunt Kate went with us, she was a lot of help with the girls and lots of fun too.

The favorite treat was corn on the cob!

We had a great trip!  Lots of good times and fun memories.

Two times two

The twins are Two!!!! They are definitely two times the trouble and two times the fun.  Karter is a character. She is sneaky, when I tell her not to do something she likes to sneak back and get into it. She is a climber and seems to be fearless.  Kinley is more vocal and more cautious.  She likes to talk and sing. She sometimes will open the hymn book and sing during sacrament meeting.  Having twins is definitely lots of work.  They divide and destroy regularly but they are also so fun to cuddle, and I love it when they say "Luv you mom"  They love to have books read to them, and they love to sing songs.  The wiggles are their favorite movies, we watch those regularly.  They are buddies. I love it when they play together and giggle.  Whenever I give one a treat they ask for an extra to give to "Sister"  They look out for each other and I hope they will keep looking out for each other.  I love my little twinners and we have had a fun and crazy 2 years but I wouldn't change it for anything.

Tanner's Birthday

Tanner turned 5 this year!  He wanted a Batman themed birthday, so I got creative and made him a mask and a poster.  Grandma and Grandpa Yearsley came up to celebrate, and he got to invite a friend over to play.  He had to wait to open presents until dad got home from work, but he was patient.  He got a scooter, clothes, cowboy hat and a sling shot.  He wanted McDonalds for his birthday dinner, a favorite at our house.  Then we had cake. Batman cake of course.  Tanner is so much fun to have around.  His smile is so sweet and he has a great sense of humor.  Tanner loves to ride his bike and play outside.  He also likes to play wii and he is learning to read and doing great!  He is a great help with the twins, even though he loves to tease them too.

We love you Tanner and are so glad to celebrate #5 with you!!!

Christmas Time

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. Tylin started taking ballet and so she was able to be in the Nutcracker production. She was an angel and a court servant.  She did a great job and it was fun to watch her perform.

We went to Payson first for the Sorensen Christmas Party.  The kids love to see their cousins and play.  I love all the yummy food and great traditions.  We always go caroling on the trailer and act out the nativity.  The girls were angels and Tanner was Joseph.

Then we went to Hamer on Christmas Eve.  The kids had a great Christmas, it was fun to watch the twins figure out how to open their presents.  Christmas day we had our traditional rib dinner. So yummy!  It is always fun to see all my siblings and parents and visit.

I am always sad when Christmas is over.  I love this time of year and all the festivities, but I also hope that my kids know it is more than presents and that we should remember the birth of the Savior, and try to serve others.
